Is it time for website redesign
Tuesday, August 18, 2009    6:59 pm

Creating a website for your business is just not the only task to go online with your business. An outdated website can be a reason for the bad reputation of your business and many times, it can be the first impression for the potential customers. If your website doesn’t look updated, potential customers may assume that your business is behind the time and is not capable of providing the latest products and services. There are many features that were very popular in 90’s and early 2000’s but now they are considered outdated and sometime annoying also.

It is the best time for your website redesign, if your website has any of these:

  • Just the text with no images.
  • Scrolling images, words, sentences. Anything moving is probably a bad idea.
  • In case of chaotic background, no one can read the content of the web page properly.
  • guest book, as no one uses these anymore.
  • Visitor counter: it is useless to tell the visitors how many views you had.
  • Illegible text: if the text of your website blends too much then no one can read it properly.
  • Auto play music: give your visitors option and time to prepare for sound.
  • If they don’t know what they are buying, then they will leave: consumers use the internet to do shopping and to do mush of the research before buying. And if your website is incapable to provide the detailed information about your products and services, then the buyer will switch over to other website that can provide the satisfactory information.
  • No feedback: everyone wants their opinion heard. Customers always want to be sure about the quality of the products and services you provide and what else can be better than showcasing the positive customer’s reviews? Always allow an area to leave feedback of a certain product or service. If your website does not allow them to do so, then it’s not up-to-date.
  • Old content: you should provide a reason for your customers to come back. If you have a news section with no new information, then it’s not only useless but it is also sending a wrong signal about your business to the customers. Keep things fresh by adding a blog to your website as a blog is a great way to stay connected with your loyal customers as well as make new ones.

A thoughtful update every few week is a great way to update your website and your customers with the new developments in your business.
